Erykah Badu’s That Badu mushroom tea

Erykah Badu has joined forces with Cookies founder Berner to introduce her own strain: “That Badu.” The music icon and entrepreneur describes the Limoncello crossbreed from Mad Cow Genetics, as an aromatic lemon scent that “just gets [you] through your day without you feeling overexposed.”

Cookie storefronts’ launch event for the collaboration will take place on International Women’s Day (8 March) and feature Badu’s range of products. These include ceramic rolling-trays and bongs featuring blue-andwhite designs that are inspired by ancient Qinghua-style ceramics.

Erykah, the Grammy Award-winning Neo Soul icon, is now a cannabis enthusiast. Recently, Erykah Badu collaborated with entrepreneur Berner on “The Badu,” the strain and tea collection named after her. Cookies’ first non-psychoactive herbal mushroom tea was developed in partnership by Erykah Badu. This tea is made from vanilla and bergamot flavored black tea leaves, decaffeinated to maximize enjoyment. It also contains 10mg CBD/5mgCBG for stress reduction and relaxation.

Badu’s goal for this collaboration was to uphold and empower women. Name and terpenes of this strain are inspired by the song “On & On,” which was written by Badu to empower women. Ideal for helping with morning rituals or focusing throughout the day.

That Badu X Cookies SF Apparel

Erykah has always been a strong advocate for women’s rights. She’s collaborating with Cookies cannabis in honor of Women’s History Month to launch That Badu, a premium line designed specifically for women and which will debut at International Women’s Day on March 8. A second round of items is set to debut around Mother’s Day. 14 May, the planned launch date, will mark the second wave.

Badu’s vision for her brand has been fully realized throughout the entire creation process, from research and testing through to packaging design. A purple-and-white motif reminiscent of ancient Chinese Qinghua ceramics can be seen throughout all products, such as her porcelain tray for rolling joints and Roberto Lugo’s vase-shaped bong which she affectionately named “Woman Vessel.” Together, they created a product that celebrates the beauty and ritual of cannabis use.

Badu, as part of their partnership with Cookies and Lemonnade in California will release their first cannabis variety: a cross-breed between Lemonchello Gelato x Jet Fuel Gelato. The strain can be purchased in eighths and prerolls beginning March 8, 2018.
